Pinterest introducing Analytics
Last Updated: March 20, 2013Pinterest has introduced recently a way to track user engagement with the site. The Pinterest analytics introduced are fairly basic on the site but they do allow for users to see how many re-pins they have gotten on their content, as well as views. The actual tool itself isn’t necessarily important, but what it suggests about the future of Pinterest is more interesting.
By bringing in the Analytics, it can now be assumed that Pinterest is planning to offer space for advertisers to truly use the service for social media marketing and social maintenance. The community on Pinterest has grown recently so that it is nearly as important to keep a Pinterest for business as it is to have something as important as Facebook. Business account tools were brought into Pinterest last year, but the introduction of this analytics form means that the foundations certainly are being laid for the service to become a place of potential business and possibly sales.
