A common frustrating occurrence for YouTube users is clicking on their desired video and being forced to wait from anywhere between 5 and 30 seconds for a video commercial to start playing. Much of the time, these videos result in the viewer growing a negative image of the company/product being advertised, but Volkswagen have noted this and have come up with a way to be as equally entertaining as the following video. The video is a parody of “bad covers” of songs that are posted on YouTube in their thousands every day, and seeks to promote Volkswagen’s original car parts.. The ad was extremely effective in engaging with the audience, with 125,000 views and 500 clicks on their banner ad for every $100.
