Viral Videos: Old Milwaukee – ‘Pass Me A Beer’

It seems that the third instalment of Old Milwaukee Beer’s low-budget ‘Pass Me A Beer’ promo, launched just before Independence Day weekend, is headed for viral popularity. It’s a testament to what can be achieved without CGI or celebrity endorsement.

US BEER company Old Milwaukee Beer has been surfing a viral wave of popularity during Independence Day weekend with the third instalment of its low-budget ‘Pass Me A Beer’ campaign.

Launched on July 1, the video eschews special effects in favour of two guys devising increasingly extreme ways to pass each other a beer. The promo—which doesn’t actually feature any shots of people drinking; it’s all about the ‘trick shots’—was devised by Jack Packard of Red Letter Media, whose brother, Nick, and Milwaukee comedian Tim Higgins, are its only stars.

With the Old Milwaukee YouTube post alone receiving 60,000 views during the holiday weekend, Pass Me A Beer Summer Finale, seems bound for the same level of viral popularity enjoyed by Part 1 and 2014’s Part 2, which have been viewed more than 2m times over the past five years.
