Overbury, BDP and AECOM are the architects behind PwC‘s beautifully laid out Edinburgh office. A base that accommodates PwC’s 400 employees in the city, the office also boasts impressive meeting rooms and meeting areas for staff. The PwC objective underpinning the design brief was ‘One Firm, One Space, One Future’, and is reflected in a workplace hallmarked by convenience and flexibility, enabling staff to grow and work in a variety of ways. The office is a winner of an award from the Scottish British Council for Offices (BCO).
As well as a breathtaking roof garden, Michael Laird Architects created this inspiring interior in the Edinburgh headquarters of multinational technology company, Microsoft. The yellow-themed office gives the space a very distinctive, practical appearance, with a fresh and dynamic feel.
GP Plantscape designed this modern workplace for travel-comparison company, SkyScanner, creating a space that is distinctive, vibrant and open while retaining an individuality for each workstation. Lively colours and smart decor and layout blend impressively throughout the office, and the social area for the firm’s 300 employees incorporates an eating and games space.
4. The Roslin Institute
Employees at the science group, The Roslin Institute, are housed in a futuristic, open workplace, designed by HDR Inc. It’s sustainable too, with natural ventilation throughout that reduces energy consumption while improving working conditions for employees. Vibrant colours and themes enhance the creative atmosphere throughout the workplace.
5. Virgin Money
The breathtaking Virgin Money office was created by Spacelab, Me, Him and Her and Spacemanstudio. A creative use of natural lighting and emphasis on Virgin’s iconic primary colour, red, help to create an inspirational environment for employees, and a landmark in office design inspiration for the rest of us.
6. Standard Life
Financial advisers, Standard Life, had its Edinburgh office designed by Michael Laird Architects, which devised a modernist look for the workplace, emphasising and facilitating openness, collaboration and confidence, and underlining the company’s technology-driven ethos.
