Startup Event: Cusp Conference 2016Last Updated: May 1, 2020
Preparations are gathering pace for the Cusp 2016 Conference in Chicago. It’s regarded as one of the premier ‘outside the box’ networking events for startups in the design industry. If the idea of Cusp is new to you, here’s what you need to know.
What is the Cusp Conference 2016?
THE Cusp Conference is an annual gathering of thinkers, innovators, creators, visionaries and explorers from the arts, sciences, technology, business and design. As the organisers describe it, Cusp is about broad thinking and taking people out of their comfort zones, in a bid to broaden their approaches in all aspects of business and life.
It’s an event that helps people break down barriers and connect the dots between the known and the unknown.
Where & When is Cusp 2016?
What Happens at the Cusp Conference?
THE Cusp Conference is about generating new ideas and thinking, not a ‘how to design things’ event. Attendees of the conference will be able to see over 25 presentations by people who are passionate about their industries and about designing a better future.
Just one of the previous attendees, Seattle, Washington-based graphic designer and creative director, Mary Chin Hutchison, was eloquent on the benefits of attending Cusp, describing it as “mind-blowing” experience that shouldn’t be missed.
“Cusp is an extraordinary experience… amazing, inspiring and thought-provoking. The new channels of thoughts and discussions that ensue afterwards are priceless. As a designer, it is wonderful to be introduced to people you might not normally encounter in your own everyday work but whose thinking is so relevant and resonant, and the accessibility of the presenters made the experience memorable,” she said.
Who are the presenters?
AS NOTED above, Cusp 2016 will see no fewer than 25 key presentations delivered to attendees by people regarded as particularly passionate about their own industries, but also about pointing the way forward to a brighter future that will benefit all. Here are just three of the notable names for the presenter’s podium during the two days of Cusp.
