The New Chevrolet Camaro – Refined Sports Car ChicLast Updated: February 1, 2019
The new Chevrolet Camaro is Chevrolet’s bid to continue the love affair between the world and the car that has endured since the vehicle first appeared in 1966. Here are the key features of the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro.
THE new Chevrolet Camaro invokes one of the most enduring symbols of contemporary Americana, the car having first rolled into dealerships in September 1966. The Camaro’s symbolic power is tapped by popular artists as diverse as Bruce Springsteen (who, in Racing in the Street, recalls meeting his girl “on the strip three years ago in a Camaro with this dude from LA”) and movie director Michael Bey, whose latest instalments in the Transformers franchise feature the popular Bumblebee character as a Camaro in vehicle mode.

The new Chevrolet Camaro is pitched as the continuation of a love affair between the world and the car. The sixth-generation Camaro is hailed by the carmakers as a coming together of advanced performance technology, meticulous design and engineering mastery.
“It’s the lightest, leanest and meanest Camaro yet,” says Chevrolet, with “refinements that can be seen in every sculpted body line, felt in every turn, and heard in the road of the four available powertrains”.
Here are some of the key features of the new Chevrolet Camaro.
THE new Chevrolet Camaro is smaller and lighter than the previous fifth-generation model. The 2019 Camaro pushes its tight proportions to the limit, with improved braking, cornering, and impressive performance.
USING premium materials, rich textures and sporting tailored stitching, the bottom line standard of the new Chevrolet Camaro is refinement and sophistication. The car boasts a centre console layout, creating more ample storage, a leather-wrapped (optionally heated) flat-bottom steering wheel; and option 8-inch touch-screen radio; as well as the option of a reconfigurable instrument cluster that displays key performance and vehicle information.
The new Chevrolet Camaro isn’t just about sports performance—driver-centred convenience and safety is also at a premium, with the range of tech including a head-up display, wireless smartphone charge, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. There is also an impressive range of safety tech, including rear vision camera and rear park assist, the StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System, and additional options of Side Blind Zone Alert, with Lange Change Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. With eight standard airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, and an ultra-high strength steel safety cage, car occupant protection is paramount.
4. Overall Driving Experience
With its impressive blend of performance technology and safety features to enhance driver control and comfort, the Camaro is engineered to perfection, sacrificing none of the iconic light handling and precision steering with which the car carved its reputation. It’s an incredible driving experience that starts at $25,905.
